Actua is an actuarial learning and calculation platform operated by Evolvion, an Australian business. This policy explains how we handle your personal information when you use Actua at actua.dev.
Actua data is stored in an isolated database. No data is shared with any other Evolvion product (including Trac, Flux, or any future service). Each product operates its own completely separate data infrastructure.
All users: email address (when you create an account), a one-way hash of your IP address (for rate-limiting, we do not store your raw IP).
Pro subscribers: chat history (synced to the cloud for persistent access), exam image uploads used for AI grading.
What we do not collect: payment card details. All payment processing is handled by Stripe. We only store a Stripe customer ID for billing purposes.
Your data is used to provide the Actua service: authenticating your account, enforcing usage limits, storing your chat and exam history (Pro users), and processing subscription billing through Stripe. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.
Actua uses the following third-party services to operate: Supabase (authentication and database hosting), Stripe (payment processing), Groq and Hugging Face (AI model providers for answering queries), and Plausible Analytics (cookieless, anonymized website analytics). Your queries are sent to AI providers to generate responses but are not used to train their models. Plausible collects no personal data and cannot identify individual users.
Chat history and exam uploads are retained while your account is active. If you delete your account, all associated data is permanently removed within 30 days. Free-tier usage data (hashed IP counters) is automatically purged daily.
Accounts, saved conversations and the calculation audit trail are stored on servers we operate ourselves in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, ap-sydney-1 (Sydney, Australia). We do not use a managed database provider, so your records are not copied into a third party’s platform.
Spreadsheets you upload are never sent to our database. They are held in your browser for the session and released when you close the tab. The audit trail records the reference — the method, the assumptions, the shape of the data and the result — and never a copy of the underlying figures.
Search over our knowledge base runs on our own server. The embedding model executes locally in Sydney, so the text of your question is not sent to an external embedding service.
One exception, stated plainly: generating a written answer uses a third-party language model hosted in the United States. When you ask a question in chat, that question and the retrieved reference material are transmitted there for the length of the request. Deterministic calculations do not go through it — those run on our Sydney engine. If your work cannot leave Australia, use the calculation and reserving tools and avoid the chat surface, or contact us before you upload anything.
Under the Australian Privacy Act 1988 and, where applicable, the GDPR, you have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data. To exercise these rights, contact us at sales@evolvion.com.au.
Actua uses essential cookies only for authentication session management (Supabase auth tokens). We do not use tracking cookies or advertising cookies.
For basic usage analytics (pageviews, feature adoption), we use Plausible Analytics, a privacy-first, cookieless analytics tool. Plausible does not collect personal data, does not use cookies, and is fully compliant with GDPR, CCPA, and PECR without requiring a consent banner. No individual user can be identified from the data collected.
